Tidemark is a Windows app that shows where your disk space went and helps you reclaim it. It is published by Thryve Apps (“we”). The short version: Tidemark analyses your PC on your PC. We don’t collect, see or sell your files, your folder names or your usage.1. What stays on your PC
Tidemark reads file and folder sizes, names, dates and attributes to build its reports. It reads the list of installed programs from Windows to attribute space to apps and to start their uninstallers. On the AI tools page it reads which AI apps are running, their memory and CPU use, and the network ports they listen on. None of this leaves your PC. It also keeps:
- scan snapshots and history (folder sizes over time, free space samples, per-app totals),
- saved scans, so Explore reopens instantly,
- your settings, limits, watches and a log file.
All of this is stored only on your PC, in %LOCALAPPDATA%\in.thryveapps.tidemark. It is never uploaded. You can delete it at any time from that folder. Uninstalling Tidemark removes the app; delete the folder above to remove its data too.
Tidemark has no telemetry, no analytics, no ads and no account.
2. The only network connection
Tidemark connects to the internet only for Tidemark Pro licensing, through our payment provider Dodo Payments:
- When you activate a license key, Tidemark sends the key and your PC’s name (so you can tell your activations apart) to Dodo Payments’ license service. The reply tells Tidemark whether the key is valid and the email address it was bought with, which is shown in Settings.
- About once a week, Tidemark sends the key and the activation ID to check that the key is still valid (for example, that it hasn’t been refunded).
- When you deactivate a PC, Tidemark sends the key and activation ID so the activation can be used elsewhere.
No information about your files, folders, apps or disk usage is ever sent. If you don’t use Tidemark Pro, Tidemark makes no network connections at all.
3. Purchases
Tidemark Pro is sold by Dodo Payments as merchant of record. When you buy, you enter your payment and contact details on Dodo Payments’ checkout page, not in Tidemark; we never see your card details. Dodo Payments shares your name, email address, country and order details with us so we can provide your license and support. Their handling of your data is described in the Dodo Payments privacy policy.
We use purchase information only to deliver and support your license, handle refunds and meet legal and tax obligations. We don’t sell it or use it for advertising.
4. Notifications and system tools
Windows notifications from Tidemark are shown locally by Windows. When you choose an action that needs administrator rights (such as Fast scan or Windows’ own cleanup tools), Windows asks for your permission each time; these run on your PC and send nothing to us.

The Tidemark pages on thryveapps.in are covered by the Thryve website privacy policy. If you email us, we use your message and address only to reply.
6. Children
Tidemark is a general-purpose utility not directed at children, and we don’t knowingly collect information from children.
7. Your rights
Because Tidemark keeps your analysis data only on your PC, you control it directly. For purchase data held by us or Dodo Payments, you can ask us to access, correct or delete it, subject to legal record-keeping requirements, by emailing [email protected].

If this policy changes, we’ll update the date at the top of this page and describe significant changes in the app’s release notes.
