com.habitcricket.app), developed and published by Thryve Apps (“I”, “me”), handles information. In short: your habits stay on your device. I don't run a server, there is no account, and I don't collect personal information myself. Google provides the App's ads on both platforms, and on Android also its analytics, crash reports and purchases. Apple provides purchases on iPhone (see section 12). By using the App you agree to this policy.1. Information stored on your device
Everything the App works with is saved in a database and settings file on your device: your habits (their names and icons), the habits you tick off each day, your innings and balls, rain delays, badges, and your settings (reminder times, theme and, if you enter them, a display name, jersey number and colour). None of this is sent to me or to anyone else.
On Android the App opts its data out of Google cloud backup, so it is not copied to your Google account. Android may still move it when you transfer data directly from an old phone to a new one. On iPhone, see section 12. Uninstalling the App removes it.
2. Information I collect
I do not collect, store, or receive any personal information directly. The App has no accounts, no sign-in, and no backend server. Data used for ads, and on Android for analytics and crash reports, is collected by Google through the services described below.
3. Advertising (Google AdMob)
The App shows ads provided by Google AdMob on Android and iPhone, including optional videos you can watch for a power-up. AdMob and the Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect and use data such as:
- Advertising identifiers (the Android Advertising ID, or on iPhone the IDFA only if you allow tracking; see section 12)
- IP address and approximate location derived from it
- Device information (model, OS version, language, screen size)
- App interaction and ad performance data (ad views, clicks, crashes and diagnostics)
This data is used to serve and measure ads, prevent fraud, and, where permitted, personalise ads. Your habits are never passed to AdMob. Google's use of this data is described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services and in the Google Privacy Policy.
4. Analytics and crash reports (Android only)
The Android version uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how the App is used, and Firebase Crashlytics to receive crash reports. Analytics records game events such as a ball's outcome, the end of an innings (format, runs and wickets), a habit being ticked, a milestone or a power-up being used, together with an app-instance identifier and device information. Crash reports contain technical details of the crash, device information and an installation identifier. These events never include the names of your habits, your display name or anything you type.
This data is processed by Google; see the Google Privacy Policy and Firebase privacy information. I use it only to fix problems and improve the App. The iPhone version contains no analytics or crash-reporting SDKs.
5. In-app purchase
The App offers one optional purchase, “Remove Ads”. On Android it is bought through Google Play, and on iPhone through the App Store. Google or Apple handles the payment and I never see your payment details. The App asks the store whether you own the purchase so it can restore it after a reinstall. Purchases are covered by the Google Privacy Policy and the Google Play Terms of Service, or by Apple's Privacy Policy.
6. Notifications and widgets
The App can show local notifications, at most two a day, reminding you that today's ball is still to be bowled or celebrating a milestone. They are scheduled on your device (with WorkManager on Android and Apple's notification system on iPhone), and no notification data is sent to me. The App asks for notification permission first, and you can turn reminders off in its settings or in your device's notification settings.
Home screen widgets show your score and let you tick off habits using the data already on your device. They send nothing anywhere.
8. Your choices and consent
- Consent (EEA, UK, and US states with privacy laws): where required by law, the App shows a consent form (Google User Messaging Platform) before personalised ads are shown. You can change your choice later with “Privacy choices” in the App's settings.
- Reset or limit ad personalisation and advertising identifiers: on Android, go to Settings > Privacy > Ads (or Settings > Google > Ads) to delete your advertising ID or opt out of ad personalisation. On iPhone, see section 12.
9. Children’s privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13 (or under the applicable age of digital consent in your country), and I do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through the App, contact me and I will help resolve it.
10. Data sharing and security
I do not sell or share personal information, and your habits never leave your device. The only third parties involved are Google (AdMob on both platforms; Google Analytics for Firebase, Firebase Crashlytics and Google Play on Android) and, on iPhone, Apple (the App Store), as described in this policy. Data sent to these services is encrypted in transit. Because I do not collect personal data, I hold none to protect.
11. Your rights and data deletion
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA or India's DPDP Act), you may have rights over data that Google collects through ads and analytics. Since I hold no personal data, you can exercise these rights through your Google account privacy controls at myaccount.google.com or by contacting me. Uninstalling the App, or clearing its data, deletes everything stored on your device.
12. The iPhone (iOS) version
On iPhone the App works as described above, with these differences:
- Saved data: your habits and progress are stored on your iPhone and may be included in your iCloud or computer backup if you have backups turned on. Apple handles that backup.
- Advertising: ads come from Google AdMob as described in section 3. The App asks for your permission (Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt) before AdMob can use your device's advertising identifier (IDFA). If you choose “Ask App Not to Track”, the IDFA is not used and ads are not personalised using it. You can change this at any time in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
- No analytics or crash reporting: the iPhone version does not include Google Analytics for Firebase, Firebase Crashlytics or any other analytics SDK.
- Notifications: reminders are local notifications scheduled on your iPhone, and nothing is sent to me. You can turn them off in the App's settings or in Settings > Notifications.
- In-app purchase (App Store): “Remove Ads” is bought through the App Store and Apple handles the payment. The “Restore” button asks the App Store for your past purchases on request.
13. Changes to this policy
I may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
